Auto Expo 2023 has officially begun and Day 1 is expected to be an exciting affair with brands like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, and Kia. MG Motors, Toyota, and Lexus are all showcasing their products today. Day 1 was kicked off by Maruti Suzuki followed by MG. Read on to know what else has launched today and when can we expect these vehicles in India.
Maruti At Auto Expo 2023
Maruti eVX SUV
Maruti Suzuki was the first this morning as the carmaker announced its concept electric SUV called the ‘eVX’. It is a mid-size electric SUV concept that comes equipped with a 60kWh battery and can offer a range of up to 550km on a single charge. It is expected to hit the market by 2025. The EV is 4300mm long, 1800mm wide and 1600mm tall and comes with a comfortable cabin equipped with multiple features.
Grand Vitara & Brezaa
The brand has also showcased a special Matte Edition of the Brezza and Grand Grand Vitara at the auto expo. Brezza is one of the best sellers in its segment and has been announced in a new matte black shade today. It is now available in 7 colors- Pearl Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Magma Grey, Sizzling Red, Brave Khakhi, and Exuberant Blue along with Matte Black. The specs and design remain unchanged.
Grand Vitara Matte Edition has also been showcased. It has the same specs as the standard Grand Vitara, so this one is only a new color option.
Maruti Suzuki is also displaying eco-friendly products like the WagonR Flex Fuel prototype, Brezza S-CNG, and Grand Vitara Intelligent Electric Hybrid. 16 vehicles are being showcased by Maruti that include XL6, Ciaz, Ertiga, Baleno, and Swift among others.
MG Motor India at Auto Expo 2023
Next up was MG Motor India which showcased Hector SUV Facelift and MG4. It has showcased 14 new vehicles in all.
Hector Facelift
The Hector SUV has been showcased at the auto expo with a starting price of Rs. 14.72 lakh. It is available in 5 variants including Style, Smart, Smart Pro, Smart Pro, and Savvy Pro. It will come in 5, 6, and 7-seater configurations and gets a host of exciting technologies and 11 Autonomous Level 2 ADAS features. The car has received smart auto turn indicators, a dual-tone argil brown and black theme with a wooden finish, a 14-inch HD portrait infotainment system, over 75 connected features, and more.
MG4 Electric Hatchback
It is a born electric vehicle built on the modular scalable platform of its parent company SAIC. It has the same size as the ZS EV SUV with an attractive exterior that combines sportiness and elegance. Inside the cabin, the MG EV4 has 2 floating screens, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree parking camera, and ADAS. It comes with battery pack options in the global market. It is compatible with a 150kW DC charge.
MG eHS
This Plug-in hybrid car claims to give good performance and efficiency. It has a sporty exterior with significant space inside. The battery pack and petrol engine can give a power output of 255 hp and this car can touch 100kmph sped in 6.9 seconds.
JBM Auto
JBM auto has showcased India’s first electric luxury coach along with various other products.
JBM Galaxy Luxury coaches
The new range of e-buses will be safe, sustainable, reliable, and profitable. JBM galaxy coaches are 12m high-floor coaches equipped with the latest infotainment system, modern utilities, mobile charging ports, and the best safety features. It has a seating capacity of 45 people and is powered by lithium-ion batteries offering a range of 1000km daily.
Hyundai at Auto Expo 2023
Hyundai has showcased the Creta facelift and launched Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was also present at the event and talked about his association with the brand.
Ioniq 5
Ioniq 5 all-electric crossover in India. It is priced at Rs. 44.95 lahks for the single fully loaded variant in which it will be available. The bookings have been open since December 21 and the price is applicable for the first 500 customers. It has a retro-futuristic look with all-LED headlamps and a pixelated theme. It has sharp lines, highly raked widescreens, flat surface 20-inch aero-optimized alloy wheels, a turbine-like design, and more. It will be available in 3 colors- Optic white, Gravity gold matte, and midnight black pearl.
Ioniq 6
Ioniq 6 is based on the prophecy concept and gets multiple long curves and creases along with an aerodynamic silhouette. It has pixel-style LED lights, a ducktail rear spoiler, and a curved shoulder line, similar to the Prophecy concept. It has 2 battery pack options and a claimed range of up to 614km. The entry-level 53kWh and the larger 77kWh are the options.
Eicher & Volvo Intercity Coaches
Eicher has unveiled India’s longest 13.5m electric intercity coach, Eicher Pro 2049, and electric 4.9T GVW truck. It is developed for economical and clean last-mile applications.
Ashok Leyland at Auto Expo 2023
The brand has unveiled battery electric vehicles, fuel cell electric vehicles, and hydrogen internal combustion engine vehicles.
SWITCH Mobility at Auto Expo 2023

Kia at Auto Expo 2023
Kia Motors showcased EV9 and Kia KA4 at the auto expo 2023.
Kia EV9
Kia EV9 is an electric SUV that is likely to go into production by the end of 2024. It is based on the company’s E-GMP platform and features a clamshell bonnet with dot-patterned headlamps having L-shaped DRLs. It has a tiger nose grille at the front with vertically stacked tail lights and a massive windshield. It has a driving range of 450km and can boot from 0 to 100kmph in 5 seconds.
Kia KA4 Carnival
The Kia KA4 Carnival comes with a 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine. It delivers 290bhp maximum output and 355Nm torque. The engine has an 8-speed automatic transmission and the Indian variant might have a 2.2-liter diesel engine producing 200bhp and 440Nm of torque. It features a grille with brushed silver inserts, headlamps integrated intro grille section, and more. Safety features include ABS, EBD, TCS, hill start assists, smart cruise control, blind spot monitor, and more.
BYD at Auto Expo 2023
BYD ATTO3 forest green limited edition and Seal showcased.
BYD ATTO3
The car manufacturer has launched a new color edition for the ATTO3 SUV. Forest Green edition has been showcased priced at Rs. 34.49 lakh, limited to 1200 units. It has black door handles and ORVMs along with stylish dual-tone allow wheels. It is based on the brand’s e-Platform 3.0 and comes with a 60.48kWh battery pack. It can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 7.3 seconds and a range of 521km. Other features include panoramic front seats and a one-touch electric tailgate.
BYD Seal electric sedan
The new BYD Seal arrives after the e6 electric MPV and Atto3 electric SUV and will be launched in the last quarter of the calendar year. The delivery will begin around Diwali. The model measures 4800mm in length, 1875mm in width, and 1460mm in height. The Seal is rich with features like crystal LED headlamps with the boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, and full-width LED taillights running across the entire length of the boot lid. Indian model is likely to have a 550km on a single charge. It has a fast charging capability of up to 150kW with a bigger pack.
Lexus at Auto Expo 2023
Lexus RX 2 variants have been showcased- RX350h Luxury Hybrid and the RX500h F-Sport performance.
RX350h SUV
It is a strong hybrid model and is already available in the global market. The car has a Japanese design with sporty allow wheels, coupe-ish roofline, and sharp LED taillights with a light bar at the center of the tailgate adding further style to the SUV. It has a 14-inch infotainment screen with Android auto and apple car play. The SUV comes with ADAS tech and a 2.5-liter petrol engine and a powertrain of 248 PS and 324Nm of torque.
RX500h F-Sport
The car has a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine with an e-Axle rear unit with 366 horsepower and 460Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 6.2 seconds and makes direct use of the DIRECT4 powertrain. Color options available are White Nova, Heat Blue, Dark Rose, and dark skin aluminum ornamentation.
The day is not over yet as Tata Motors, Keeway-Benelli, and Tork Motors are yet to unveil their products in the evening.
