Home Mobile News Apple was selling iPhone 14 at Rs. 6.18 crores per MONTH! That too on its Website!

Apple listed an iPhone 14 at a monthly price of Rs. 6.18 crores on its online store. The glitch was later fixed.

The iPhone 14 hasn't got off to a good start and the reasons are clear – not many changes from the iPhone 13, and a higher starting price. Still, at $799, the iPhone 14 is reasonably priced for many and could be a good upgrade for users of many iPhone 11 and older models. The iPhone 14 Plus is said to have done badly in the pre-orders and with its starting price of $899, many are rather considering going for the iPhone 14 Pro. However, many assumed Apple did not bother about this price hike concern and listed an exorbitant price for the iPhone 14 – one that would break even a millionaire's bank account.

The US website of the Apple Store Online had listed the iPhone 14 at a monthly price of $777,777 per month after trade-in value. Yes, that converts to Rs. 6.18 crores; for an iPhone 14 128GB! Shocked by this exorbitant price, many interested buyers shared the screenshot on social media and it quickly became the center of memes. Many even considered the possibility of Apple actually increasing the price owing to rising manufacturing costs.

iPhone 14 gets an unbelievable sticker price

However, the price was later reverted to the launch spec version and while Apple did not comment on this, it simply seems to be a glitch. And since the price was astronomically high, we doubt anyone would have taken up the deal.

The iPhone 14 is a symbol of Apple doing extreme cost cutting at a time when manufacturing costs are rising. This is the first time Apple reuses the A15 Bionic chip from the iPhone 13 for another year, thereby offering no real performance difference. The minor graphics performance boost is attributed to the 5-core GPU of the iPhone 13 Pro. Apple even went on to reuse the same 6.1-inch 60Hz OLED display with the old notch design, which in 2022 doesn't compare well with the 120Hz display toting Android flagships. Even the design remains the same.

The only changes to the iPhone 14 come in the form of new front and rear cameras, and a bigger battery. It is the iPhone 14 Pro that gets the new Dynamic Island solution to ditch the notch, brand new high-res cameras, Always On Display, and larger batteries.
