At launch, Vision Pro came with four short films, including Alicia Keys, Rehearsal Room, Prehistoric Planet Immersive, Wild Life, and Adventure. Now, Apple is gearing up to release another short film for the headset’s users. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming video, including the series it belongs to, its story, and the launch date.
New Vision Pro Immersive Video Launch Date
According to a report from Apple Insider, the Cupertino-based tech giant will reveal the second short film in Vision Pro’s “Prehistoric Planet Immersive” series on April 19, 2024. The TV app on Vision Pro already contains a teaser for the same. The short film will depict the story of a young triceratops, a plant-eating dinosaur, who discovers the importance of family in the forest.
Prehistoric Planet Immersive New Video Duration And Story
The original video, “Prehistoric Planet Immersive,” showed some pterosaurs on an ocean coast encountering some young T-Rex. Its sequel, about the baby triceratops, runs for about six minutes. The report also mentions that this is only the second new Immersive Video the company has released since the launch of the device. Before this, Apple made the five-minute highlight of the 2023 Major League Soccer season available.
Along with the launch of the mixed-reality headset in February, Apple included a couple of Immersive Video experiences. For those catching up, Immersive Video experiences are 180-degree 3D videos shot in 8K, giving them more detail and texture than the other 3D movies and Spatial Videos (created from the iPhone 15 Pro models).
