Apple iPhone 15 Ultra to feature a 10x periscope telephoto lens: iPhone 15 Pro Max might be skipped

Apple is all set to launch the iPhone 15 Series on the 12^th or 13^th September this year. It is not even a month to the launch and as expected the rumor mill is abuzz with new updates every other day. The latest we have heard is that Apple might be planning to drop the iPhone 15 Pro Max and replace it with iPhone 15 Ultra this time.

Apple Insider Andrew O Hara claims that Apple is dropping the iPhone 15 Pro Max moniker and going with Ultra as the top model this year. He also reveals how iPhone 15 Pro will be different from iPhone 15 Ultra.

Apple iPhone 15 Ultra

Earlier reports hinted that iPhone 15 Ultra with come with 5x or 6x zoom capability for a telephoto lens but O’Hara claims that the device will have up to 10x zoom range due to the periscope telephoto lens. This is something similar to Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra which comes with 10x optical zoom.

The primary sensor on iPhone 15 Ultra could be 1-inch Sony IMX903. The iPhone 15 Ultra is also claimed to have a bigger 6.7-inch display and a bigger battery. This iPhone might have an Action Button instead of the signature Ring/Silent Switch. The mute button might be sitting on a Titanium chassis and the body is expected to be stronger with an A17 Bionic chipset.

This time iPhones are expected to come with USB-C ports for charging and provide faster charging speeds as well.

iPhone 15 Series: Colored USB Cables

Speculations have been rife that Apple is switching to a USB Type-C port on iPhone 15 Series and now the latest buzz is that to make things interesting, the brand might offer colorful USB Cables matching with the iPhones.

The leaker Majin Bu has shared images of USB-C cables of the iPhone 15 Series. These include pink, black, and bluish-grey colored cables.

Apple device prototype collector Koustami has shared images of USB-C cables in 5 colors. The colors are black, yellow, pink, blue, and purple. Judging by the color pallet, these might be the shades of iPhones as well.

Apple has always been playful with colors, launching iPhones in unique shades all around the year. So if this happens, it won’t be a surprise to see the brand offering colorful USB-C cables.

4 iPhone 15 Series Models are expected- iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max/iPhone 15 Ultra. This time all 4 iPhones are expected to have a dynamic island and feature USB-C ports for charging. The expensive iPhones are said to come with a titanium frame and thinner bezels this time.
