Apple iOS 17.4 Brings Improvements To Podcast, Stolen Device Protection, And Other Features

Apple has released the iOS 17.4 release candidate with several new features. Apart from the changes that apply to users in the European Union, the latest iOS version will come with new emojis, a new “Hello” screen, improvements in some apps, and more. Improvements In Podcast And Apple Cash

The Podcast app now has text transcriptions that appear as the host speaks. Further, the app now highlights words as the host talks, making it easier to follow the subtitles. It also adjusts the speed in real time. Further, users can search for a specific term in the entire podcast’s script and jump to the particular part. Apart from Podcast, Apple Cash has become more useful with new virtual card numbers that help people use their balance at shops that don’t use Apple Pay.

Increased Device Protection And Comprehensive Battery Information

Stolen Device Protection gets a new option that makes users wait an hour, even when they are at a familiar location, before they can change the critical settings of their iPhone. The Battery menu in Settings now contains important information such as cycle count, manufacture date, and date of first usage. The update also includes several new emojis, including mushroom, phoenix, lime, broken, chain, and shaking heads.

Along with these updates, the new update lets users add songs they’ve identified to their Apple Music Playlists and Library. Call identification now displays an Apple-verified business name, logo, and department name when available. That said, Apple could release the new update in the week of March 4, 2024.
