Apple has introduced a new Beta iCloud web interface

1 year ago 75

The Cupertino tech giant Apple has released the beta iCloud web client, which is now far more customizable and swifter in navigation. The iCloud web has been available for a long time but has yet to become popular because of its primary and clunky interface. However, Apple has redesigned the iCloud interface for improved performance and user experience.

Apple's new beta iCloud web client offers a customizable tile layout that reflects user priorities. In addition, it is now easier to switch between apps because of the launchers added on the home page and the menu. Also, you can quickly start tasks (such as writing an email or adding calendar events) with the help of another new menu bar.

The beta client also upgrades some iCloud+ features, including custom email domains and Hide My Email options. A "Data Recovery" tool is also now a part of the web client, and it will help you reclaim bookmarks, calendars, contacts, and iCloud Drive files deleted within the last 30 days. Except for iCloud Drive, you can restore from specific moments in time. However, Apple hardware will still control some features, including Family Sharing, HomeKit Secure Video, and Private Relay.

Apple has yet to say when the new iCloud web interface might leave beta testing. However, the tech firm pitches this as an upgrade for customers whose only Apple product might be an iPhone. Unfortunately, this redesign won't persuade Android users to switch, and the individual web apps have mostly stayed the same. The beta may encourage you to stick to the Apple ecosystem, though. With web access to services like Music and TV+, it also shows that Apple is eager to court users who can't (or don't want to) run dedicated apps on their platforms.
