Adobe has launched its AI Assistant for Reader and Acrobat users. The tool is based on the machine learning models behind Acrobat Liquid Mode, which supports responsive reading experiences for smartphone PDFs. AI Assistant is the first step toward transforming digital document experiences with generative AI. It will benefit PDF creators and consumers alike.

Adobe AI Assistant Availibility And Features

The AI Assistant is available to Acrobat Individual, Pro, Teams customers, and Acrobat Pro trialists. Below is a list of all the new features the assistant brings, including generative summaries and intelligent citations.

  • Per the official press release, the new AI Assistant can answer and recommend questions based on the content of a PDF.
  • It can also create a quick summary of the content inside long documents.
  • The custom attribution engine helps users verify the source of AI Assistant’s answers.
  • For better navigation in the PDF, the assistant provides users with clickable links.
  • Users can ask the assistant to format the contents of a PDF into easy-to-read pointers or bulleted lists. It also allows them to copy and paste the list to emails, presentations, or Word documents.
  • Last, customers can use the AI Assistant with other document formats, such as Word, PowerPoint, meeting transcripts, etc.

Adobe’s AI Assistant To Benefit Professionals And Students

These features will help people with various things. For instance, it will enable project managers to scan, summarize, and distribute meeting highlights in seconds. The AI Assistant lets sales personnel personalize pitch decks and respond to clients. Students who have access to the compatible tiers of Reader and Acrobat can use the assistant to summarize e-cooks, make notes, and solve any related queries on the spot.

Adobe Will Make The Feature Available Via An Add-On Subcription

For now, the AI Assistant remains in beta testing, which means it is only available to a selected number of users using the tool and providing feedback. However, a support page on the company’s official website reveals that the AI Assistant will be available as a button at the top left of the window and in the All Tools section. When the feature is out of beta, Reader and Acrobat users can get it for an add-on subscription.
